About Dr William Robert Da Silva

Dr William Robert Da Silva is a well known sociologist born in India. He completed his MA and PhD in the Faculties of Evangelical Theology, Philosophy and Social Sciences, Economic & Social History, Ethnology, Indology with a thesis on West-Coast India (From Rta to Dharma: The Symbolic & Diabolic of the Systems of Production and Representation. Transition as Structual Transformation in West-Coast India ) in 1985 from Hamburg University in Germany (1979-1985) with a scholarship from the Academy of Missions at the Hamburg University.

He has previously worked Lecturer and Reader at Mangalore and Goa Universities, as Guest Professor at Osnabrück University, Germany; Manipal University and Christ University.

Dr Da Silva currently resides in Mangalore where he works on projects in social sciences and linguistic fields. He is a Visiting Senior Professor for Liberal Arts with Communication and Design as frames of reference at the DJ Academy of Design, Coimbatore, where he lectures on evolutionary, archaic civilisational, historical and modern and global perspectives.
